What is Acupuncture?
Physiotherapist Maryse Pion Robin, is pleased to offer acupuncture sessions at Sante Chiropractic and Wellness Centre. Acupuncture involves penetratingthe skin with very thin needles in specific points in order to decrease pain in a targeted area or to treat various physical, emotional or mental conditions.
There is no substance injected in the skin with acupuncture needles. Acupuncture is often used to encourage the body’s natural way of healing and can sometimes be used as an alternative for surgery or medications. Acupuncture is an effective complement to physiotherapy, chiropractic and/or massage therapy, enhancing their benefits.

Who is Dr. Maryse Pion Robin?
Dr. Maryse Pion Robin pursued her education in physiotherapy at Ottawa University. After graduation, she continued her schooling in chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. During this time, she took additional courses in acupuncture, orthotics, Activator, Thompson technique, Active Release Technique (ART), Graston technique and other specialized programs. Dr. Pion Robin returned to her hometown, Cochrane, ON, in August 2005 and opened Back In Motion Plus, a rehabilitation and wellness clinic, where she worked as a physiotherapist, chiropractor and acupuncturist for over ten years. Furthermore, she also completed her Masters in Rehabilitation from the University of McMaster. She was also the team chiropractor and physiotherapist for the Cochrane Crunch, a NOJHL team.
In August 2015, Dr. Pion Robin moved to Ottawa, ON where she worked as a Rehabilitation Manager for a new innovative multidisciplinary centre including a large team of Medical Doctors including Sports MDs and Pain Management MDs as well as a Rehabilitation Team.
She continues to be motivated to learn about rehabilitation, wellness, health and nutrition. She continues to further her education and training with courses such as ART, concussion assessment and treatments, K Taping, maternity and pediatric care, etc.
Dr. Pion Robin is also very family-oriented. She and her husband are proud parents of four young children. They keep her very busy and entertained. There is nothing she enjoys more than spending time with her family. When she has free time, she likes challenging herself in sports, travelling, shopping, and visiting family and friends.
