Most people only think of a chiropractor when they have back pain or at best to help maintain proper body mechanics and avoid back pain. There is a lot more to chiropractic than just back pain! Did you know that your nervous system controls every cell, tissue and organ in your body? Any misalignments in your spine will interfere with the signals travelling from your brain to other parts of your body and can affect the flow of energy in your body.
Full spectrum chiropractors focus on what are called subluxations, or misalignments in your spine. Subluxations create interference in your nervous system, which impedes the communication between your brain and the rest of your body. Subluxations are not just a mechanical problem. Yes, if vertebrae are out of alignment they will cause interference but there is a lot more to it. Think of a 2-way radio, while it’s physical components and wiring are important, there will be no communication if it cannot transmit and receive signals. Much like a 2 way radio, we will not be able to emit or receive energy if we have interference in our nervous system caused by subluxations.
So what causes subluxations? According to Dr. Han Selye, there are 2 types of stress: eustress, (good stress) and dis-stress (bad stress). Good stress is necessary for human beings to grow and thrive. It is the bad stress that we need to worry about. Most of us live in a chronic state of dis-stress also called the fight or flight response. This creates static or subluxations in our nervous system just like the 2 way radio we talked about earlier. When there is static, the flow of energy in your body is compromised. Chiropractic adjustments help to correct the subluxations and to balance your nervous system by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for repair and growth
So what does chiropractic have to do with chakras? The answer is – Everything! Chakras are the energy centres in our bodies. They run vertically along your spine from the base of your pelvis to the crown of your head. Each chakra reflects the health of a particular part of your body. Blocked energy in any of the 7 chakras can have a significant impact on your health. Think of your nervous system as a transmitter that can send and receive energy. Don’t you want to make sure that your transmitter is working well so the energy in your body flows freely and your chakras are balanced and working in harmony?
