In honour of International Women’s Day, we at Sante Chiropractic and Wellness decided to devote this blog to women and Chiropractic. In todays world we like to promote equality between women and men in all aspects of our lives. There are a few things that will remain different between both genders, specifically when it has to do with our bodies. Ladies Only Women have the incredible capacity to get pregnant and give birth, something men cannot do. Yes, it is true science is evolving and there may come a day when we re-visit this idea but for the purpose of this blog we will keep it to how a womans body naturally was designed for pregnancy. Pregnancy is a wonderful thing and does not necessarily need to be painful or difficult. Many pregnant women have benefited from chiropractic care during their entire 40 week gestation period. It can help as the body goes through changes and help on the day of the delivery. Preparing for a Perfect Pregnancy With the Webster Technique
You have missed your period. You take a pregnancy test, and you are pregnant! But now what? Getting pregnant is a blessing but it comes with great responsibility. There are many decisions to be made which could potentially affect the outcome of your pregnancy and those decisions are not to be taken lightly. One of the most important things to do is prepare your body physically. This aspect of pregnancy plays an important role in the mother and the baby’s overall health and must be addressed as soon as the mother finds out she is pregnant. We all know that keeping physically active is important for the mother and the baby’s health but it is even more important for the mother to prepare her body physically by addressing aspects of the actual birthing process. For the body to accommodate the child in the uterus biomechanically, neurologically and physiologically, dystonia should be addressed. From there you have the choice to listen to it or to ignore it. Fun fact: Pain transmission in your Read more…

What is Chiropractic All About?
Not sure how to explain chiropractic to your friends and family? Keep reading… What is Chiropractic All About? The word ‘chiropractic’ comes from the Greek chiros and praktikos, meaning “done by hand”. Chiropractic was founded in 1895 by D.D. Palmer, and it is now practiced in over 100 countries. Chiropractic is a safe and natural form of health care and is well-known for helping people with their aches and pains, but there is so much more to it than meets the eye! Chiropractic care focuses on optimizing your body’s own ability to function at its best. It achieves this by removing interference on the nervous system. Chiropractic care is a non-invasive and drug-free approach to health. Chiropractic does not include medications or prescription drugs, which often cover up important symptoms. A health symptom is your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong and that it is an important signal one should not ignore. Medication may provide temporary relief but it often doesn’t address the underlying issues. Chiropractic care focuses on addressing the cause of your symptoms as opposed to just camouflaging them. When your body is functioning properly, it has a tremendous ability to regulate and correct its own Read more…
